Meet our new grant partners

Author: Friends Provident Foundation

Date: 22/09/2026

We recently welcomed two organisations to Friends Provident Foundation as new grant partners. The UK NGO Forest Coalition and Future Economy Scotland were both awarded funding at the March 2026 Board of Trustees meeting.

The UK NGO Forest Coalition brings together the country’s leading forest and human rights organisations behind a single, urgent mission: to secure a deforestation free UK economy. Led by Fern, the grant of £48,000 will support parliamentary advocacy work to influence an ambitious Treasury review aimed at creating new due diligence rules on deforestation for the financial sector.

“The NGO Forest Coalition is delighted to be partnering with Friends Provident Foundation to end the financing of deforestation. Funding from Friends Provident Foundation will enable us to deepen and extend our reach and leverage our networks for greater impact. With Friends Provident Foundation’s support, we will build the evidence, relationships and pressure needed to move the UK government to reform the financial system to become deforestation free. We look forward to a partnership grounded in shared values, working together to build a fairer and more sustainable economic system.”

Cassie Dummett, Coordinator of the NGO Forest Coalition

Future Economy Scotland is an independent think tank focused on systemic economic transformation in Scotland. The grant of £90,000 supports their core activity centred on: advancing implementation of the Community Wealth Building Act; delivering a just energy transition; embedding a mission-led green industrial strategy; and restoring nature as a public good.

“This funding has been transformative, enabling us to strengthen our capacity and deepen our impact at a crucial moment. With a new Scottish Parliament beginning its term, the need for bold, transformative policies to accelerate a just transition is greater than ever. Thanks to the Foundation’s support, we can scale up our research, advocacy and communications – increasing our ability to shape the debate, influence policy and help build an economy that is more democratic, sustainable and just.”
