Equity and Social Justice

At the Friends Provident Foundation, we are dedicated to addressing social injustices and inequity in the economic system. We cannot create a new fairer system without addressing issues such as institutional racism, ableism, homophobia, biphobia, transphobia, social mobility, and patriarchal mindsets. We recognise that we have power and can use our power to influence and change attitudes. Therefore, we are on a journey of discovery and learning. We are exploring ideas where we can implement solutions to equity and social justice issues throughout our activities.

It’s time to diversify economics to help reclaim it

Why does it appear that the economy is failing to meet humanity’s and our planet’s needs? This was a question we pondered as we began work on Rethinking Economics’ new book Reclaiming Economics for Future Generations. It focuses on the need to diversify, decolonise and democratise economics to help address global crises that we face, such as poverty, inequality and the climate crisis.
