Several comprehensive research studies, including the recently released UK Government’s ‘Investing for a better world’ report highlight that 7 out of every 10 people in the UK want to use their savings, pension and investments to protect people and the planet. Yet significantly, they don’t know where to start, need more information and think impactful financial products need to be much more accessible.
In contrast, 60% of UK social enterprises that are actively developing innovative approaches to tackling climate change, addressing inequalities and building resilient communities are struggling to access affordable capital.
The rapid development of ‘Finance and Technology – Fintech’ is providing new opportunities to provide ordinary people with the ethical financial products they want, whilst also enabling highly impactful organisations to scale and grow by attracting affordable and flexible people powered finance.
