In recruiting to these positions, we particularly sought perspectives that might challenge orthodox views and we welcomed diversity of perspective, background, physical abilities, ethnicities and class background and all age groups and all nations in the UK in the range of applications that we received. Competition for the roles was keen – in excess of one hundred applications – and we were tremendously impressed by the range and calibre of responses, all of which were closely scrutinised and shortlisted before making the final appointments.
