Steve Clare

Born and raised in a mining community in the North East, Steve is a graduate of Cambridge University and has postgraduate degrees in Employment & Planning and Business & Public Sector Strategy.

He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, an accredited Social Enterprise Business Adviser, an NLP Master Practitioner, and a trained coach and mentor.

Steve worked in with several front-line community groups and with a major pan-London funder (now part of London Councils) before becoming Assistant Chief Executive of East London training provider NEWTEC, where he led on the development of the £4.8 million East London Childcare Institute.  In 2005, he joined the Development Trusts Association (a national network of community development trusts) as Director of Campaigns and in 2012 became Deputy Chief Executive with the successor organisation, Locality. In May 2015, he left to set up his own business, Cyta Consulting Ltd, which specialises in community enterprise development, project management and coaching/mentoring.
